REAV-40

Coastal Multi-Purpose Uncrewed Surface Vessel

With more than 25kWh battery capacity packaged into a 4m monohull design, the REAV-40 is a performant coastal or force-multiplier USV with a fully-electric powertrain. Developed under the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund ‘Robotics for a Safer World’ programme, the USV has been deployed for a number of applications including acoustic data harvesting from underwater instruments.

Central to the REAV-40’s versatility is its trailer portability, enabling users to launch and recover the USV from remote locations. A central skid bay can accommodate larger sensors and instruments into the vessel's moonpool and 48 / 24 / 12vDC and 230vAC power is available to client payload - enabling payload and instrument packages to be changed rapidly for mission-specific requirements.

With twin, independently-steered Torqeedo Cruise 4.0 electric pod drives the REAV-40 has exceptional manoeuvrability and station-keeping performance. Designed with line-of-sight operations in mind, the REAV-40 is controlled with a Spectre autopilot module providing advanced, self-tuning autopilot control modes including heading, track following and loiter capabilities.

The REAV-40’s proven seakeeping characteristics make it ideally suited for deployment as a force-multiplier, offering a battery-powered, zero-emission data acquisition platform to deliver improved productivity and efficiency on existing vessel operations whilst slashing the carbon intensity of surveys.
